winter light

Why is it when us girls wear a fur vest out on the town, everyone wants to pet it? To avoid that this year, I decided just wearing it to brunch and later thought a field would be more appropriate ;) I dined on delicious egg nog french toast and opened pretty presents with my friend Larissa on Saturday morning, and spent the rest of the day doing some last minute shopping and hanging with this sweet girl.  As you can tell by these photographs, Annie and I barely caught the sun before it slipped into it’s 5pm hiding spot! Doesn’t it just look like winter?! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!!

Fur Vest: Forever 21 (old) // Blouse: LOFT (similar)// Jeans: J Brand Super Skinny (scored for $30 from Sloan Boutique in Charlotte!) // Boots: Frye Jane 14L // Watch: MK // Bracelets: Stella + Dot, J.Crew // Hat: Gap // Sunnies: Banana Republic (old)

It is definitely rare that you’ll catch me in animal print – but I just couldn’t say no to this cozy sweater – especially after being inspired by Gaby’s black & white cheetah print sweater post! This sweater is a bit heavy which makes it perfect for colder days and hanging out by the fire, as evidenced below :)

hollers & hills

Took this post’s name from Randy Housers’ new song – How Country Feels. You must give it a sample listen on iTunes – it’s on repeat over here! I traveled to West Virginia for Thanksgiving and took some outfit photos for fun. There is something about the colors of this old navy flannel that caught my eye – I first saw it here on Happily Grey and knew it would be a versatile piece for fall! As you can also see, my MK watch, Stella & Dot Bracelet and J.Crew bracelet are on constant repeat. Making that cost per wear go down day by day! :)

be slouchy!

With your sweaters, that is! During fall I don’t think there is anything better than a chic slouchy sweater, paired with perfect cognac riding boots. All that’s really needed are some simple jewels and a statement handbag to let other know that yes – you know your sweater is oversized, and you meant to wear it that way! I’ve been crushing on this oversized Gap sweater – it looks like something I’d live in on the weekends. Since I can’t afford them, I’m hoping some of you take advantage of Loeffler Randall’s sale – these boots are beautiful. On that same token – this bag too! A girl can dream! Also, I’m love the cat earrings and ring from Madewell’s accessories — quirky and cute. We made it to Friday – happy weekend!

I wear my heart on my sleeve

Saturday was a perfect fall day! I had the pleasure of snapping some photos of my friend Jess with her husband Adam and their new puppy Zoe! Zoe is a Rhodesian Ridgeback and just about the cutest puppy ever. We went to Freedom Park in Dilworth, Charlotte. Even though it was cloudy all day, we still had alot of fun! Jess snapped some photos for Suttonrowe — thank you!!

Happy Weekend! Throw those leaves :)

Fall into Style with Ali-Ro!

Every girl should have the perfect layering piece for fall! I’ve always been a fan of Ali-Ro’s designs, and recently I was asked to participate in a style series for their blog! I picked my favorite pieces from their Fall collection and styled them up based on how I’d wear them in MY city – Baltimore, aka Charm City! I chose the Classic Anorak – it’s the most versatile piece and perfectly lightweight. Make sure you head over to Ali-Ro’s My Life blog to see how I styled the Classic Anorak with other Ali-Ro pieces for day & night, and also learn a little about me!

Spoiler: I’m also sharing my favorite fall trend, must-have beauty product, guilty pleasure and what I’m most looking forward to this fall!

the marshes

Some people love the beaches in Charleston, but I’d have to say I love the marshes just as much. It’s so serene out there, and the way the sun can reflect off the pools of water is just beautiful :) I took these photos during sunset on someone else’s dock (we had to be sneaky!) and I love how they turned out! What will I do when my sometimes-model leaves for college in 2 weeks?! I’ll miss her so much!

Take me to paradise

Hey there! I’m having an awesome time in Folly Beach, SC. They have the cutest little downtown area (maybe more like intersection!) with lots of bars and restaurants, and beautiful scenery. The Charleston marshlands are a favorite of mine, and I even ventured down to the veryyy end of the beach to see the Morris Island Lighthouse right off the coast here. That’s where my sister Annie and I took some outfit photos on the rocks! I also threw in some beautiful pictures of Folly Beach that I’ve snapped along the way – this area is a girl with a new camera’s dream!
